Rock-Climbing
|
| |
|
Rock Climbing is one of
the fastest growing leisure activities, involving millions of people
worldwide. Classed as a modern sport, Rock Climbing is relatively
new, evolving from the world of mountaineering. It is however, an
activity that has formed a part of human culture for thousands of
years. Despite having elite origins in the 18th & 19th
centuries, rock climbing now has participants from almost all walks
of life. Is it any wonder why many would wish to experience such a
dynamic adventurous activity?
Rock-Climbing is a
mentally and physically demanding activity carried out on a vertical
playing field where defying Newton’s ‘law of gravity’ is the aim and
strategic manoeuvres with physical dynamics (strength, balance &
agility) are the objectives. These skills & techniques will develop
with coaching, training and experience thus providing a pinnacle of
personal gain and satisfaction.
